SUMMARY:20 Hour Wilderness First Aid: Subsidized
DESCRIPTION:What?! You read right. The Great Plains ACC Section\, The Regina Climbing Centre and Back 40 Wilderness First Aid have teamed up to bring you the most exciting 20 hours you’ve ever had doing first aid. Seriously. It’s pretty awesome. \nThe course will be subsidized for ACC members only who are committing to become leaders and/or volunteers with the section. This will give you a whole different set of skills than you would get at a normal 20 hour course. Are you interested? Here are the details: \nDates: June 21 -23 \nTimes: Friday 6 pm to 10 pm\, Saturday and Sunday 9 am to 4pm \nCost: $265.00 +GST \nIf you’d like more information\, please contact Jordan at 306 522 5462. \nRegistration can be made via the REGISTER NOW link below (scroll down a bit!!)

Join us this May long in the sunny Black Hills of South Dakota. The weather tends to be warm and sunny and the climbing is some of the best around. Check out the details below: \nThis year we will be offering section members an opportunity to go rock climbing on the May long weekend (Saturday May 18 and Sunday May 19\, 2018). We will be based out of the Black Hills National Forest Area in South Dakota. Climbing is weather dependent\, therefore the leaders may decide to cancel the trip the week prior due to poor weather conditions. \nTHIS TRIP IS BEGINNER FRIENDLY. No prior climbing experience is required. The trip is currently\ncapped at 12 participants. (Participant number may increase based on participant experience). \nAccommodations\nParticipants will be responsible for their own accommodations. There is a free camping area which is first come first served\, as well as several reservable campgrounds for a small fee in the area. There are hotels available in Hill City and Keystone.  \nGear\nParticipants are responsible for their own gear. Gear requirements include climbing shoes\, a harness\, carabiner/ATC\, and helmet. The club has a limited number of harnesses and helmets available at no cost to participants on a first come first served basis. A recommended packing list will be provided to confirmed trip participants. \nTravel and Food\nParticipants are responsible for their own transportation to South Dakota and to the climbing areas. People will typically carpool with other participants and this is usually arranged in the weeks leading up to the trip. You will need a valid passport. \nRegistration\nThere is a $20 trip fee per participant that is 18 years of age and older. Sign up will be on a first come first served basis at the discretion of the trip leaders.
